For a certain segment of the population, homelessness is an all too familiar reality.
However, actress Brett Butler, who rose to fame for her role in the film “Grace Under Fire,” will not be one of those people.
The actress has successfully raised more than $60,000 on crowdfunding site GoFundMe in the past two days to rent an apartment for herself and her dog.
This comes after Butler — along with actress Rose McGowan and actress Tiffany Haddish — appeared in a ” #SayHerName: An Advocacy Video” for the anti-domestic violence organization RAINN and in a December 2017 spot for ad agency CP+B featuring Reese Witherspoon , Selma Blair and other celebrities reading the names of dead women.
Even so, there may be some uncertainty surrounding Butler’s $60,900 rental.
The actress, who spoke of her physical and mental health in a previous video for GoFundMe, is hoping to live in New York City.
According to social media posts from the actress’ attorney, the premises are within a two-block radius of a shelter and not far from multiple other rental properties.
