Former President Jimmy Carter will celebrate his 97th birthday Wednesday.
FOX’s Michelle Pollino reports from Atlanta:
Carter, the 35th President of the United States during the Carter Administration, will ring in his landmark birthday tomorrow.
President Carter is a cancer survivor. Last spring his daughter, Amy Carter, was diagnosed with leukemia, and in September his youngest son, Billy Carter, passed away at 98.
Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee spoke with FOX’s Chris Stirewalt at a leadership forum of tea party groups on Tuesday:
(Huckabee) “I think his family for a long time was a boon to the country. The family is connected to very little money. And they’re just very gracious people.”
Carter also speaks highly of President Trump.
(Carter) “He’s kind of flexible in dealing with Congress… He’s very clear that he’s going to accomplish what he sets out to do.”
Former President Obama spoke about election results at his Chicago home. He offered thoughts on Republicans picking up seats in the House, saying America’s “preservation rests in the hands of the Senate.”
