Before her first appearance on Good Morning America, Azriel Clary was forced to address her interview with Gayle King. The incident began when Clary, the ex-girlfriend of R. Kelly, answered a call that King had arranged from Kelly, during which he asked her to discuss her betrayal of the singer. Clary initially denied the accusations but later admitted on TV that she lied, while adding that the singer was on the phone during the sexual assault. Clary has changed her story but still says that she doesn’t love Kelly. She was called a liar and a manipulator.
The above excerpt from CBS This Morning is a recap of the GMA segment of Clary’s interview, as well as a discussion with co-hosts Charlie Rose and Gayle King over whether or not Clary will respond to questions from Stormy Daniels. King expresses her opinion that she’s hoping that Clary comes forward with more information and not just one person’s opinion of her and what happened. Clary believes the interview gave her the chance to release a statement. Clary also told Rose she thinks being on GMA was the perfect opportunity for her to come forward, before she could risk another high-profile interview with Kelly. Rose then challenged her in an attempt to discredit her by saying she wasn’t asked to appear on the show and that it was The Shade Room who wanted her to do it. The interview follows in full below:
