Democrats from both the left and the center coalesced last week on key House Judiciary Committee chairwoman Nita Lowey’s (NY) resolution adding a ban on family separations to legislation granting government bailouts to big banks. The bipartisan support came despite a major procedural glitch that enabled a vote on the matter. The issue went before a divided and marathon-long Judiciary Committee, where Democrats were simultaneously negotiating with President Trump in the Oval Office about his border emergency declaration.
On Fox News Sunday, lowey credited two key Democrats for pushing the issue through the committee – Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Joe Manchin.
Senator Joe Manchin told host Chris Wallace that the president listened to the Democrats’ ideas and addressed them. He also expressed his pleasure that Senator Schumer and Democrat Chuck Schumer from New York supported the bill, something he hopes will lead other Democratic Senators to do the same.
This week in Strasbourg, France, the NATO defense ministers meet to evaluate President Trump’s challenges to the countries and the alliance.
Congressman Mike Turner (OH-06) joins host Chris Wallace to discuss his press release released Tuesday that called on President Trump to cease undermining NATO and the U.S. alliance with the alliance.
The outline of Chairman Mulvaney’s speech the Republican National Committee, countering Senator Minority Leader Schumer’s comments that President Trump had aided the Democratic nominee in the 2016 presidential election.
Congressman Tom Cole (OK-08) sits down with host Chris Wallace to discuss the fallout of the President’s speech at the G7 meeting and how President Trump got caught trying to influence the polls.
